ONOMOTION, a Berlin-based e-mobility company, has designed an e-cargo bike that combines the flexibility of a bicycle with the capacity and durability of a van.
ONO e-cargo bikes have a range of approximately 50 km on one battery charge (1.4 kWh). The batteries are replaceable, meaning additional batteries can be carried to increase the range. Cargo storage volume is over 2m 3 with a capacity of up to 200kg. The storage space is also customisable, for example for shelves and load securing. The cargo bikes can be used on cycle paths and in low emissions zones and provide protection from the weather for riders.
As part of ONOMOTION’s sustainability vision, it produces its vehicles according to the cradle-to-cradle principle of circularity and 97% of its suppliers are based in Germany or neighbouring European countries.
SIXT is the first mobility provider in Germany to include the ONO e-cargo bikes in its commercial vehicle fleet. In 2023, SIXT began trialling 15 ONO e-cargo bikes in Berlin and Magdeburg. During the 12-month trail, the vehicles travelled 20,000 km within the two cities.
“With the ONO e-cargo bikes, we provide our customers with a flexible and sustainable vehicle for urban transport. Due to our shared values, ONOMOTION is the perfect partner for us: We wholeheartedly support the traffic shift towards sustainable mobility and focus on innovative solutions.”
