EcoBean joins the global community of B Corps – Companies that use Business as a Force for Good®

EcoBean, a Polish leader in coffee waste innovation, supported by EIT InnoEnergy, announced its certification as a B Corporation™ (B Corp). By earning this prestigious recognition, the company has joined a global community of businesses that balance profit with purpose, redefining the standards of modern business.

What is B Corp?

B Corp is one of the world’s most demanding certifications, awarded to companies that meet rigorous criteria for social and environmental responsibility. During the B Impact Assessment™, companies are evaluated in five key areas: governance, environment, employees, community, customers

EcoBean scored 102.1 points in the evaluation, significantly exceeding the minimum threshold of 80 points.

Since 2018, EcoBean has been transforming how the world views coffee waste. They’ve developed cutting-edge technology to process spent coffee grounds into high-value chemicals and ingredients used in cosmetics, packaging, and food industries. This innovation not only reduces waste but also provides sustainable, low-carbon alternatives.

“Joining the B Corp community is a tremendous honor and a commitment. It’s a testament that our mission—combining sustainability with business efficiency—is recognized by global leaders in responsible business,” says Marcin Koziorowski, CEO of EcoBean.

What is the B Corp Community?

The B Corp movement is a global initiative uniting companies that balance profit with a positive social and environmental impact. These organizations operate by the principle of Business as a Force for Good®, proving that sustainability and responsibility can go hand in hand with commercial success.

Certification is awarded by B Lab™, a nonprofit organization, and confirms compliance with the highest standards of accountability across governance, environment, employees, community, and customers. Globally, only 9,412 companies hold this certification, including iconic names like Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, and The Body Shop. Over 100,000 companies have started the assessment process.

“B Corp is not just a seal of quality—it’s a community that inspires and sets new standards for the future of business,” adds Kacper Kossowski, co-founder of EcoBean.

“Another Polish B Corp joins the growing community of certified companies competing not just to be the best in the world, but the best for the world,” says Paweł Niziński, co-founder of the B Corp movement in Poland and CEO of Better.

He adds: “EcoBean has embodied the essence of a B Corp from its very inception. Built on circular economy principles, EcoBean raises awareness and supports partner companies in adopting due diligence—even in areas that might seem as trivial as coffee grounds. As a co-initiator of the B Corp movement in Poland, founder of one of the first Polish B Corps, and a coffee enthusiast, I’ve followed this certification process closely. EcoBean’s achievement is a demonstration of Polish innovation and high business standards. Congratulations on joining the community!”

A New Chapter for EcoBean

Certification marks another milestone in EcoBean’s ambitious growth. The company is in talks with global buyers of our products and are finalizing funding to build a state-of-the-art technology center that will process 1,000 tons of coffee grounds annually. With B Corp certification, EcoBean strengthens its position as a leader in circular economy innovation, proving that sustainability and commercial success can go hand in hand.
